Development of Innovative Waste-to-Value Technologies for Sustainable Rare Earth Recycling and High-Value Magnet Recycling

The project enables the sustainable transformation of rare-earth-containing waste into high-performance Nd-Fe-B magnets through innovative waste-to-value technologies. The main objectives of the project are to enable highly efficient classification and extraction of rare earth elements (REEs), produce high-purity metallic precursors, and develop next-generation magnets for electromobility applications.

Duration: 1 April 2026 – 31 May 2029

Total estimated project value: EUR 8,069,708.00
Co-financing amount: EUR 4,999,305.75

The project was selected for co-financing under the public call “Support for the Implementation of Research and Development Programmes (TRL 3–6)” (JR RR PROGRAMI (TRL 3–6)).

The operation is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Budget of the Republic of Slovenia.
